One of the nearest Asian country from the Philippines next to Taiwan. It will only take you 2 hours to go here. Much easier than enduring the EDSA traffic from Trinoma to Makati or vice versa. haha!

I visited Hong Kong twice for WebConf Asia. But of course, before and after the conference, I went around the city to unwind and especially eat.

Arrival at Hong Kong to Disneyland

The flights from the PH to Hong Kong are a lot. You can check Skyscanner for the cheapest rates depending on your preferred dates. From Manila, I took an early morning flight to HK so I can spend more time wherever I wanna go.

Upon arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport, I bought a local sim and an octopus card at the airport that you can load up for train, bus, and store purchases. In case your mobile phone is locked up with your provider, you can rent portable wifi with Flytpack.

Train from HK Airport to the City is quite expensive if you use the octopus card. You can avail a cheaper one via Klook or just take a free airport shuttle.

From the airport, I went straight to HK Disneyland. You need to take the train from the Airport Station to Tsing Yi Station and transfer to Sunny Bay for the Disneyland Resort Station. Roughly 20 mins of travel time.

Stayed at Disneyland from 1 PM up to evening after the parade and fireworks. Just to note that food inside theme parks are more expensive than the usual local food so you need to adjust your budget here.

From Disneyland Resort Station I travelled to Sunny Bay again to Lai King Station going to Tsim Tsa Tsui to check-in. Stayed at HK Tai San Guesthouse. The guesthouse is near the train station, money changer, Tsung King mansion, harbour, fast-food chain, and shopping stores.

WebConf Asia

Attended WebConf Asia 2017 and 2018. I must say that this by far is my favorite web conference attended next to Form Function Class (syempre!)

Here we were able to meet Vitaly the EIC of Smashing Magazine which later became one of the FFC speakers too. As well as speakers from different parts of the world that are experts in their own field.

Why attend WebConf?

This is the place for your souvenirs or pasalubongs. You can huggle with the vendors for the price. However, some vendors are too aggressive and will really follow you while walking just to buy their item/s.

You can also try different street food here and milk tea/boba.
